Have you been diagnosed with a shellfish allergy?

You may be eligible for an observational research study near you and may be compensated for your time.

What is involved in the study?

There will be two visits involving physical examination, measurement of vital signs, review of medical history, and collection of blood samples. The first visit is to measure the concentration of shellfish-specific IgE antibodies, which are the molecules responsible for allergic reactions, you may have in your blood. If the concentration is above a threshold, you will be eligible for a second blood sample collection that will be used to better understand shellfish allergies.

You may be able to participate if you:

  • Are age 12 or older
  • Have a clinically-diagnosed severe shellfish allergy
  • Experienced a severe reaction to eating shellfish that required EpiPen (epinephrine) administration or an Emergency Room visit within the last 2 years
